Membership Series with Alex Bould and Marika Meertens - Consolidated Redux Session

Following on from the success of the 2024 Membership Virtual Series, “Constructing Environments to Move Many as One”, the Institute presents a review of the concepts presented by Alex and Marika in one single session.

This event is designed specifically for members who have not been able to attend one or more of the three previous sessions.

We  will begin our journey by looking at how we might tackle the task of moving  large groups as one when working from a transactional perspective.

We will then consider how propositions, as publicly-shared objective facts, can be used to dismantle prevailing narratives.

In wrapping up, we  will explore how propositions can be used to cut through confusion or uncertainty, to achieve collective intentionality.

It is our intent that when we’re done, we’ll be ready to take on the world in a new way, and will have access to valuable tools for digging deeper into the ideas raised.

The series is available to Members only.

Please register your intent to attend using the link on this page. We look forward to our journey together.

    Journey with the Institute

Throughout 2024 the Institute offered a series of events designed to build on the theme of the application of philosophy to your life, and particularly your business.

Alex Bould and Marika Meertens led an inquiry over 3 incredibly valuable sessions titled Constructing Environments to Move Many as One. Drawing on the work of philosophers Alfred North Whitehead and John Searle, Alex helped us to map their philosophical themes to our shared perspective of the philosophy of transactionalism, and transactional competence as taught at Influential U. This provided another lens we can use to look at and apply in our quest for deeply satisfying lives

In the three sessions we grappled with concepts like agency, propositions, and collective intent to create alignment and therefore grease the wheels to ensure a group’s most valuable work is done.

In our final session for 2024, we will review the series and hear from selected members how the series has impacted their lives.

We will also share the excitement we have for Institute Studies 2025 to be held in conjunction with Influential U at the annual conference in Ojai in January 2025. An esteemed philosopher, quantum physicist and author Dr Ruth Kastner has accepted our invitation to speak on her work on “a transactional interpretation of quantum mechanics”.

This event is available to Members, their guests, and the general public.
